Meet TEAM Project SEARCH Halton
at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital
Lisa Prentice is the Lead Teacher & Program Coordinator of Project SEARCH Halton at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. She is excited to be involved in a program that brings together community partners in order for students to learn through experience and develop their workplace skills and independence outside of a high school classroom.
With over 20 years experience in public education, Lisa has her Special Education, Honours Specialist qualification, along with Cooperative Education, Guidance and Business qualifications. Lisa has been involved in the developmental stages of three alternative programs specifically in a Cooperative Education environment. Lisa’s strength lies in building relational trust and collaboration between community partners, while meeting the needs, interests and strengths of her students in order to support their learning. Michael McClure is a Skills Trainer with Project SEARCH Halton, with several years experience as a Certified Career Development Practitioner and Job Development Professional. This includes experience as a Job Coach in a social enterprise setting serving individuals with disabilities, a Career Specialist in Halton and Hamilton, and his current role as a Job Placement Coordinator with Community Living Oakville. Michael has a varied career path that includes multimedia production in healthcare education and publishing, technical writing, web development, manufacturing, transportation and logistics, retail sales, and communication arts. Over the years Michael has been involved in several new initiatives and brings his strength of identifying and unlocking the potential in both people and ideas to see them take flight and thrive. Michael is very pleased to be part of the Project SEARCH Halton team and help students explore their interests, discover their strenghts, and develop their skills in various internships as they prepare for the exciting transition to employment.

Florina Magdenovska is a Skills Trainer with Project SEARCH Halton. She started her medical career at 15 years old, enrolling in the largest Medical High School in Macedonia and becoming a nurse at age 18. She continued her education at medical university for another 4 years and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. While studying, Florina began working in Neurosurgery and patients' recovery (coma centre ICU), and at the same time, enrolled as a student of IFBB college in Madrid, Spain, receiving a Certified Nutritionist Specialist diploma. Florina has 10 years experience in neuroscience, nutrition and surgery. In 2016, she moved to Canada, and she has been working for Community Living Oakville as a Job Placement Coordinator since 2018. Project Search Halton is a great way for her to show how much she cares for people with disabilities, her love for medicine, while at the same time, prove to everyone that people with developmental disabilities can work in highly responsible jobs.
